About Us

Executive Summary

Originally established as Transcend Education in 2021, Transcend Education underwent a transformative merger with the Transcend Movement in 2023, resulting in the formation of Transcend Education. This strategic alliance emerged from a shared commitment to surpass the impactful work initiated by the Transcend Movement since 2015. Functioning as a non-governmental organisation, Transcend Education was founded to address the enduring lack of social equity within educational systems. This inequity is particularly pronounced in the influence of a child's class, culture, or socio-economic background on their academic achievements and subsequent life success, as highlighted by Crenna-Jennings in 2018.

Our overarching mission is to narrow the gap of disparity by empowering students in both the United Kingdom and West Africa (specifically Ghana and Nigeria). Our objectives, rooted in the original Transcend Education vision, are to educate the lives of the disadvantaged, inspire them for greatness, and activate them to reach their full potential. We aim to provide students with the essential skills, knowledge, and opportunities necessary to enhance their educational attainment, aspirations, and overall life prospects. As part of our commitment, we extend our reach to a diverse range of schools, including some of the most underprivileged institutions and some of the most affluent ones, through the provision of training, workshops, and informative talks.

Vision

To create an education landscape where every child, regardless of their cultural, material, or socio-economic background, has equal access to quality education and opportunities for a successful future.

Mission

Transcend Education is committed to transforming education by addressing disparities and empowering individuals to break the cycle of inequality. Through strategic partnerships, targeted programs, and continuous evaluation, we aim to create a lasting impact on students, teachers, and communities, fostering a future where education is a catalyst for positive change.
